Frequently Asked Questions
Our conferences are one of the few which focuses primarily on the restoration of women in leadership from a Messianic Jewish perspective. We teach from a purely Hebraic, Jewish context when teaching about women. We therefore assume that conference attendees have a basic understanding of Messianic and traditional Jewish knowledge and perspective. Please note: we will not be teaching any introductory workshops on general Messianic issues and topics at this conference. We will focus on teaching the scriptural basis for why women can act in full capacity of authority and leadership.
Who should come to your conferences? Are these conferences for women only? Or only for women who feel "called" into leadership positions?
All
of us, men and women alike, need to receive what G-d is restoring
in this hour within the Body of Messiah - that women can and always
have been able to serve in full capacity of leadership. So everyone is
welcome, and encouraged to attend the Restore Our Judges conference to
gain understanding on these important issues. Certainly women who
already feel a calling to rise to leadership positions in their
congregations or to begin their own congregations or ministry or study
groups will obviously benefit. It is equally important for husbands of
these women to attend as well, as they will want to provide
understanding and support to their wives as G-d raises them up into
position of leadership and authority. They would benefit greatly from
learning and becoming grounded in what the scriptures actually say
about women and leadership and authority. Likewise, women who already
occupy positions of authority and leadership will benefit from the
unity, encouragement, teaching, and especially fellowship with other
fellow female Messianic leaders. Women who may not feel called to leadership positions can come into a fuller understanding of what G-d says in his Word, and what he is doing regarding this important restoration. Finally, male congregational leaders
who see a need for new leadership in their congregations could gain new
understanding on this topic, and be released to encourage and raise up
new women leaders in their congregations and ministry groups.
Of course we believe that women can contribute in any capacity - not just in what is generally considered to be traditional male leadership categories such as congregational leader, board member, elder, etc. One of the greatest and most exalted roles given by G-d for women is that of wife and mother. In addition, many women are mighty prayer warriors, or serve quietly in the Body of Messiah. ROJ does not intend to demean or take away from the contributions of these wonderful women of G-d, and ROJ fully supports the ability of women to act in any role and gift in which G-d has called them. However, the particular focus of ROJ is on the restoration of a woman's ability to act in full capacity of leadership and authority - areas of gifting that have for centuries been denied women based on faulty teaching. There are few, if any, organizations dedicated to bringing both a scholarly and Messianic focus to this important issue.
