Restore Our Judges (ROJ) is the first Messianic Jewish organization dedicated to restoring women to full capacity of Messianic congregational leadership within the Body of Messiah. Our name is based on Isaiah 1:26 which states:

"I will restore your judges as days before, your counselors as in the beginning."

This verse also forms the basis for a prayer found in the traditional Siddur in which the people of Israel petition G-d, asking: "L-rd, restore our judges."

One of these Judges was Deborah, who at one time "ruled all Israel" (Judges 4 & 5). Deborah was also a military leader and a prophetess.  Other women occupying significant leadership positions throughout Israel's history include Miriam and Hulda. Miriam was accorded equal leadership status with Moses and Aaron (Michah  6:4).  Hulda was a prophetess who's words of declaration and strength led to a great revival. 

Part of the tragic consequence of the loss of the Jewish Roots of our faith has been the corresponding loss of the authority and gifting that we see in such leaders as Miriam, Deborah, and Hulda. Much energy and resources have been expended restoring the Jewish roots of our faith in Messiah Yeshua. It is our belief and passion that we must devote the same energy and resources to the topic of women. It is a vital key to that restoration - a part of the Messianic movement that needs our full attention and study.

Restore Our Judges is dedicated to reinstating the leadership gifting of women through solid, balanced Messianic teaching - teaching firmly based upon the foundation of the Tanak (Old Testament), with the further revelation of the Brit Chadasha (New Covenant) viewed in its proper Hebraic context.

Female leadership is a wonderful part of our heritage in Israel. It is exciting that G-d is in this hour restoring the Body of Yeshua to be the effective army for Him that is needed in building His kingdom.

Let us not hold back anointed leadership and lose precious territory for the L-rd!  We in the Messianic movement are crying out, "send workers for the harvest". Yet we still insist on silencing half of our workforce.  To those Messianic leaders wondering where the leaders are,  the L-rd would ask, "Have I not given you Moses, Aaron and Miriam to lead you?" (Micah 6:4).

It just may be that the leadership we are crying out for is right in our midst!
